I had the distinct feeling that this meeting with the architect Goujon could be very interesting, from a human, aesthetic and cultural point of view. I had confirmation of this when Arnaud, after the initial presentations that broke the ice, tells me without hesitation: “I want people to leave me free to think. You believe, I think!”. A must-see is his exhibition at Palazzo Giorgi, in the ancient village of Poppi: “Itinerary of an architect”, with thirty plates that tell the story of his artistic career (12-31 October 2024).

An agricultural shed welcomes a modern villa

The Casa al Vento property is located in the hamlet of Montemorli, not far from Poggibonsi. Here a nineteenth-century agricultural shed came to new life thanks to a preservation and restoration plan devised and directed by architect Giovanni Del Zanna. Works were carried out by EDILPIÙ and their workforce coordinated by foreman Cosimo Lecce, aka Mimmo, under the expert guide of technical director Alessandro Taddei. With their experience, they managed to valorize the building’s historical character while adapting it to the spaces and functions of a modern dwelling, equipped with state-of-the-art technological systems.

The poetry of Vicchiomaggio

The Castle has been owned since 1964 by the Matta family, who in the 1980s began in the accommodation business with six apartments inside the castle. Currently there are 16 guestrooms, including those inside the castle and the suites in the rectory. Under the walls we find an enchanting swimming pool with a panoramic view over the valley, a delight for the eyes.
