For over forty years, Omac, a company based in Porrena, in the heart of Casentino, has been a point of reference in precision mechanics. With strong roots in the territory and a vision projected towards the future, Omac continues to stand out thanks to strategic investments and innovative choices. The latest major evolution is the introduction of so-called lights-out’manufacturing, a fully automated system that does not require constant supervision.
Recently, the company has further strengthened its machinery with the arrival of a state-of-the-art machine produced in Japan: the Variaxis I-700 NEO Multi Pallet Pool. This advanced technology offers greater flexibility in the management of production processes, allowing you to take advantage of night hours for long-term cycles. During the day, however, specialized operators can focus on more complex and strategic activities.
Fabio Mangani, founder of the company, proudly retraces the history of Omac: “We started in a small garage under the house, with a single machine and the family as the only workforce: my parents and my wife. Today, on the threshold of 70 years, I can say that I have made a dream come true, overcoming obstacles and challenges with an attitude that is always optimistic and projected into the future”.
Even in the most difficult times for the economy, Mangani has chosen to continue investing, demonstrating that the key to success lies in the ability to look beyond adversity.
The management of the company is now shared with Giampiero Laurenzano, Mangani’s right-hand man for several years. “We are embracing the Industry 5.0 model, which blends human input with artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
This approach allows us to develop more sustainable processes, reducing waste and consumption, and to offer increasingly customized solutions to our customers,” explains Laurenzano.
Omac’s commitment, however, is not limited to production. The company is also a point of reference for the local community, supporting social and sporting initiatives. For some time it has been the main sponsor of the Arnopolis volleyball team, which plays in the national championship of Serie B under the name OMAC Active. In addition, it promotes a lively youth sector and organizes summer camps for local children, aiming to convey educational values through sport.
Omac is a virtuous model of how tradition and innovation can coexist, generating value for both the economic and social fabric. Looking at increasingly ambitious goals, the Casentino-based company continues to grow, strengthening the link with the territory and contributing to its sustainable development.
