We met a group of professionals in the heart of Chianti who come from different but complementary experiences. It is no coincidence that, in fact, they have ‘found’ and appreciated each other in the recovery of prestigious properties – historical legacy of fascinating farmhouses and agricultural estates that belong to a legendary and fairytale time: that of sharecropping. Old farms with a lost soul to be recovered, the object of desire of an international client who intends to relive that dream and live the ‘good life’ by the pool, in the shade of centuries-old oaks and dry-stone walls. Of course, but with all the living and structural comforts that only careful design and renovation can guarantee.

We are with Carlo Matassini and Vincenzo Bove of ‘Tecno Chianti’ for the design part, with Enrico Tognaccioli of ‘T3ING’ for civil engineering and Massimiliano Carnasciali with his construction and building restoration company. We are in the village of Radda in Chianti which dominates the overlooking valleys. A quick coffee and we head in a queue to visit a recently renovated property where the group of professionals is enthusiastic to lead us. And rightly so! We enter a downy oak forest south of the village, a hillock further on, and suddenly a beautiful rustic stands out in front of us, surrounded by an outdoor garden with precise and imposing shapes, still under construction, with a beautiful pergola in the valley part.

The renovation took place with the most advanced methods of green building and the design involved the use of ‘CrossLam’ wooden panels and adequate insulation, with a very efficient ventilation system that guarantees the maintenance of perfect environmental comfort, while respecting the classic aesthetics with the use of traditional materials such as stone and terracotta.

As we walk around the property taking magnificent shots against the blue background of the sky above the ‘rolling hills’ of Chianti, we then converse amiably with the building expert Carlo Matassini and the architect Vincenzo Bove – visibly satisfied with the renovation. With thirty years of experience in their company ‘Tecno Chianti’, the studio deals with architectural, urban and structural design also of works and complexes, as well as plant design and everything related to energy saving applied to the domestic sphere and production activities.

Among the various and necessary practices, they provide real estate estimates, work management and all those processes and bureaucratic procedures necessary to complete the works, up to the usability of the structures; then they finalize the procedures and detailed checks relating to real estate transactions, as well as the procedures for starting business, in the case of companies operating in various business fields.

The team of professionals was founded in 2013 as a grouping of specialized figures able to ensure qualified and complete coverage to its customers, also making use of the support of well-established collaborations. In recent years, the architect Riccardo Panichi and the industrial expert Alessio Paradisi have joined the working group on a permanent basis, together with over twenty professionals in the technical field who allow them, in a univocal and unitary form, to present and provide pre-established and contracted services.

The ‘structural’ part upstream of the design is managed by Enrico Tognaccioli’s company ‘T3ING SRL – STP’ with the joint work of other technicians operating in the civil and construction engineering sector who, for over twenty years, have been providing design, construction management and feasibility study services. A studio capable of coordinating all-round structural projects, starting from interventions involving limited portions of buildings up to the construction of complex works – following the construction site works until the complete achievement of the client’s objectives. The studio is aimed at both construction and real estate companies, as well as professionals, public administrations and individuals. Thus, it provides executive and exclusive projects, evaluating the most suitable construction type from time to time and using materials ranging from wooden structures to steel, from reinforced concrete to masonry and possible other combinations.

The company is led by Ing. Enrico Tognaccioli – a long-time friend with a passion for running as well as my fellow countryman from the Upper Tiber – an expert in the design and construction management of civil and industrial infrastructures and structures, assisted by civil engineers Federico Luppi, Martina Garavani and Marco Masini, by surveyor Walter Banelli and Adela Dema in administration.

And after the structural and design part, it is the hand of an artist who completes the work: Massimiliano Carnasciali knows the territory perfectly because here, and by extension throughout classical Tuscany, he has been working for over thirty years, making the ancient types of craftsmanship his own and enhancing them with the integration of new techniques and technologies typical of contemporary construction.

The company is known for carrying out projects in a workmanlike manner, for the precision and punctuality of execution, for the optimization of the resources used and for the reduction of waste – good practices that ensure an excellent quality-price ratio of its services.

Taking care of the stakeholders and every aspect deriving from the works, the company ensures the unconditional trust of its client who is even offered insurance guarantees during the execution of the works – thanks to an agreement stipulated with a leading insurance company that protects the works from various and eventual events. From the completion of the works, a ten-year posthumous policy begins to take effect to protect the work for damage resulting from total or partial ruin or serious defects that compromise its stability.

With its highly specialized workforce, the company is a local leader in the restoration and recovery of villas and farmhouses, in the processing and masonry of exposed stone, as well as in new constructions, such as cellars and swimming pools. Finally, the landscape context in which the company operates is characterized by a typically rural imprint; An uncontaminated natural heritage and well regulated by mandatory constraints to protect respect for the environment and the landscape. With knowledge and love for the territory, the renovation of the farmhouses is thus faithfully based on the originally existing structural lines, avoiding interventions that alter the typical landscape layout and adapting the buildings to modern housing and construction criteria.

The morning comes to an end and we just have to go to lunch to strengthen our friendship – enjoying excellent pici with meat sauce and sipping Chianti Classico, as tradition dictates.
