Tingegno is a company with an important family history, which has its roots in the early ‘900, distinguishing itself as an example of entrepreneurial evolution in the wood sector and beyond. The business began with Fosco, Alessia’s great-grandfather, a wood merchant with his truck. Subsequently, Grandfather Pietro dedicated himself to transport, positioning himself at the beginning of the Via dei Legni supply chain, transporting the wood from upstream that would then arrive as far as Florence along the Arno. Then, in the 80s, Alessia’s father, Gianni, founded a sawmill which, even today, represents the production hub of the company. Today, with Tingegno, a new generation has made its way capable of combining tradition and technological innovation, maintaining a strong link with the territory and local resources.

Alessia, an engineer by profession, has transformed the family legacy into a modern and versatile business project. When Tingegno was founded in 2018, its main objective was the marketing of the wood produced by the family sawmill, which was already well developed in terms of production. However, in 2020, Alessia decided to broaden her horizon, integrating the engineering sector with that of building construction. Today, the company not only sells wood, but also provides engineering services and operates in the construction sector, supporting companies and individuals in the realization of tailor-made projects. In addition, to date, the engineering part, in addition to wood, has also developed a lot on steel, thus offering engineering services to companies that produce it.

The success of ‘T’ingegno’ is the result of a close-knit and multidisciplinary team. Alessia has been able to surround herself with qualified and young professionals such as Fabio, an engineer, Giada, administrative manager, Cristian, a technical expert, and Matteo, an architect. They are joined by external collaborators, including construction companies, surveyors, many from Casentino and some on a more continuous basis, such as Roberta, another architect, and a safety coordinator: Luca. Having a pool of professionals in the company allows the company to competently deal with both engineering projects and complex construction work, offering its customers, who can be private, public or companies, a complete package but also individual services. In this way, Tingegno stands out from other companies for its flexibility and versatility in the management of commissioned work.

The company operates two distinct branches: engineering and wood market. Despite these divisions of operation, the two sectors often intersect, especially in the context of timber construction. Thanks to the deep knowledge of the material, gained through a century of family experience, Tingegno is able to design and create architectural works that make the most of the characteristics of local wood, coming from the Casentino Forests: in fact, the wood used is zero kilometer, an aspect that reflects the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

In recent years, wood has gained a prominent position in the construction industry, especially in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability. Alessia and her team know the great potential of this material, which not only interfaces well with other building materials, but also offers advantages in terms of seismic safety and energy efficiency. The challenge lies in using it optimally, taking into account its (few) limitations: Tingegno tries to do this on new constructions, but also on historic, valuable, existing buildings.

Among the most important projects carried out by Tingegno, the participation in the construction of an accessible bathing establishment for people with disabilities in Romagna stands out, the second in Italy. This initiative, born from the collaboration with other local realities, is an example of how the company knows how to combine technical skills, social sensitivity and attention to detail. Among the prominent public projects, we also find the structural design of the multifunctional extension of the Castelluccio school in wood and the renovation of the School of Arts and Crafts in Stia, in which, thanks to Tingegno’s engineering skills, the original trusses of the historic structure have been preserved, combining them with the new wooden roof.

In addition to craftsmanship and in-depth knowledge of materials, Tingegno boasts a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, with advanced software for BIM (Building Information Modeling) design, tools for point cloud surveys, and other specific technical solutions for wood and steel. These technologies allow the company to optimize every phase of the work, providing detailed and customized projects, ready to be executed with precision in workshops and cutting centres.

The real strength of Tingegno lies in its ability to offer customers a complete and integrated service, which covers every phase of the project, from the initial planning to the final realization of the work. Thanks to its team of trained professionals and advanced technological tools, the company is able to manage every aspect of the work with precision and professionalism. However, it maintains great flexibility, allowing you to choose a complete package or just some services, always guaranteeing customized and targeted solutions. In a constantly evolving world, Tingegno continues to grow, combining the love for wood with a modern vision of construction and engineering, respecting the family roots and the territory that saw them born.
