Temera Company has grown to become one of the world’s leading product traceability and serialization companies for the fashion and luxury markets. By leveraging a range of IoT and blockchain technologies, Temera’s range of DPP-related solutions help to trace all information and data related to the full product life cycle including raw material sourcing, production, logistics and distribution, inventory management, sales, after-sales, and upcycling or end-of-life processes.

Temera was founded in Italy in 2009 and became part of Beontag in 2022. Beontag is a global business enabler that serves as one of the world’s leading providers of IoT solutions and graphic and label materials. With operations in more than 15 countries and a footprint in over 40 markets, the multinational company offers end-to-end product capabilities for a range of industries and businesses, driving seamless communication between companies, products, and people.

‘There’s no Sustainability without Traceability’ was the title of the thirteenth edition of Temera’s annual event, held on 12 and 13 June at the ‘Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park’ sports centre. Commisso Viola Park’ in Florence. During the two-day event, full of sporting events and talks, the major players in sustainability and innovation in the fashion and luxury sector participated. The event culminated with the conference of the same name, which explored the product life cycle, from raw material research to downstream traceability and recycling processes.

You cannot talk about sustainability without considering traceability in the fashion industry, where today almost 90% of emissions are linked to the production chain. Neglecting this part of the supply chain leads to a lack of involvement of the various actors in the data collection processes, as the impact of retail, although to be monitored, is minimal compared to the necessary transparency on raw materials and suppliers. From the various discussion panels, it emerged that we cannot improve what we cannot measure and we cannot measure what we cannot track. Tracking the life cycle of a product means reducing risks by quickly identifying the links in the value chain that need intervention. Traceability thus makes it possible to measure the environmental and social impact of a product, enabling companies to improve their ethical standards and ecological performance.

The conference concluded with a reading of the Temera Sustainability Manifesto, a company commitment to change, sustainability and social responsibility in the fashion industry. The event closed with a gala dinner outdoors, in the evocative spaces of the Viola Park, Fiorentina’s new ‘purple’ home.
